We love feel-good stories here, so here's a perfect one for your mid-week! If you've been a Tomb Raider fan for the past few years, chances are that you've seen Angela Song's incredibly sweet artwork. Commissioned by Crystal Dynamics, Angela has worked on numerous Christmas, Valentine's Day and Birthday cards, and celebrated the twentieth anniversary with a collage featuring all versions of the heroine. This week, she posted about her Extra Life art livestream themed around adventure/D&D.

While her first livestream round recently ended, there's still time to donate and rewatch her broadcasts. Angela also has a second art event in the books for later this year. The date for part two is still to be decided, it's possibly a Christmas themed round, and likely to be on a Saturday.

So far she has absolutely smashed her year-wide goal of $1000, raising $1,250 in just the first stream. The money will be going towards her selected Miracle Network organisation, the Phoenix Children's Hospital. The hospital was was founded in 1983 and has become of the largest children's hospital in the US  with over seventy pediatric subspecialities.

About Extra Life

This year marks the thirteen anniversary of the Extra Life marathon initiative. Started in 2008, Extra Life began as a way of honouring Victoria Enmon who battled acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. After her passing in January of that year, the event was set up to raise money for the hospital (Texas Children’s Hospital) which had cared for her so that it can help other children facing similar situations. The following year, Extra Life expanded and in 2009, more than a hundred websites and 12,000 donors supported the campaign. In response to worldwide attention and support, the campaign turned its attention to raising money for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals so that more children like Victoria can get the medical help they need.
