Today, GamingHeads have started sending out tracking information for the new Tomb Raider statue meaning that these gorgeous limited edition pieces will be reaching customers shortly!
While I could never afford one of their statues, I've always been in awe of the amazing work that GamingHeads does and their dedication to precision and authenticity. Having already made a selection of gorgeous "Tomb Raider" statues in the past, I was excited when it was announced that they would be collaborating with Crystal Dynamics to bring the community a selection of statues to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise.
To celebrate the milestone, six "Tomb Raider" statues were revealed to be in production and will feature incarnations of the heroine from "Tomb Raider I", "Tomb Raider III", "Angel of Darkness", "Legend", "Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris", and "Rise of the Tomb Raider".
Given the amount of work, dedication, and time each piece needs, the statues can be a little expensive. The price for each statue comes in around $300 each, not including shipping or tax. For completionists who want the full 20th anniversary collection of all six statues, it's going to be in the region of $1800. It may not be the most accessible merchandise, but even if you're just window-shopping like me, the progress and transformation that the figures take is incredibly impressive.
There are two variations of the "Tomb Raider III" statue; one in which Lara wields dual uzis (regular edition), and another where she is cradling a shotgun (exclusive edition, which also comes with dual uzis for additional customization). Including the base, it stands at 12" tall, and is cast in polystone resign, and is hand-painted by artists. The piece is limited to 1500 pieces worldwide.
