Last year, Alicia Vikander blasted onto the big screens as she brought Lara back to life in the short-but-sweetly-named "Tomb Raider". After fifteen years of rumours and teases, the Swedish actor followed Angelia Jolie's footsteps, portraying the heroine in a retelling of the recent trilogy.

Fans of the movie will be happy to learn that, a few weeks ago, Deadline announced that a sequel is going ahead with Vikander returning to the role!

Amy Jump is stated to have joined the project as script writer. Her previous work includes "Free Fire" (2016) starring "Captain Marvel" actress Brie Larson, "High-Rise" (2015), "A Field in England" (2013), and "Kill List" (2011) which won a British Independent Film Award for Best Screenplay award.

GK Films is also back producing once again, along with Elizabeth Cantillon.

"Tomb Raider "was released on March 16th 2018, and has grossed more than $274 million worldwide.
