The ambitious Google Stadia launched today with a long list of titles already available in its store, including the latest three Tomb Raider games.

Competing with Microsoft’s Project xCloud and Nvidia’s GeForce Now, and building on former projects such as OnLive, Google Stadia is a subscription service which hopes to bring games to players regardless of their gaming platform. All you would need is a controller, a stable internet connection, and the Chome browser.

While still in the early days, a lot of reviews comment on the platform having a lot of promise but might need a little bit more work to get there. You can read hands-on previews at a number of websites including Wired, Variety, and GamesRadar.

The recent three Tomb Raider titles were named in the first round of game reveals but a lot has happened since then!

Below is the full list of available (and upcoming) games which will be playable via the Google Stadia store: Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle, Baldur's Gate 3, Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Darksiders Genesis, Destiny 2: The Collection, Destroy All Humans1, DOOM, DOOM Eternal, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Farming Simulator 19, Final Fantasy XV, Football Manager 2020, Get Packed, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Gods & Monsters, GRID, GYLT, Just Dance 2020, Kine, Marvel's Avengers, Metro Exodus, Mortal Kombat 11, NBA 2K20, Orcs Must Die! 3, Rage 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration, Samurai Shodown, Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Supercross 3, SUPERHOT, The Crew 2, The Elder Scrolls Online, Thumper, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Trials Rising, Watch Dogs Legion, Windjammers 2, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

With a potential 60fps frame rate, 4K resolution, HDR support, and 5.1 surround sound, depending on your network speed, the Google Stadia is an interesting glimpse into the future of streaming previously paved by platforms such as Onlive.

For a lot of people, this could be their first introduction to Tomb Raider. It won't be everyone's first glimpse of TR but for some it will be, and it's always exciting to see new fans join the community with a fresh passion. The fandom thrives on that creativity from fans who are inspired and want Lara's journey to continue. So while it may not directly influence long-time fans, it may in-directly down the line.

Google is offering the Stadia Premiere Edition at £119 with free delivery. Included in the pack is a Stadia controller (white), Google Chromecast Ultra (black), USB-C to USB-A cable, and a power adaptor. A monthly subscription to the service is currently £8.99.
