To kick off the year, Royal Mail have announced a new series of stamps to celebrate the British gaming industry, designed by Supple Studio and Bitmap Books!

While Tomb Raider is no stranger to receiving its own stamp collection, having previously been featured on a Royal Mail presentation sheet celebrating twenty years of the franchise, this latest collection is tribute to the British Games industry and features iconic titles from the 1980s and 1990s. For the collection, the company has also worked with Julian ‘Jaz’ Rignall who provided a history of the games for the set.

The Games: Elite (1984), Dizzy (1987), Populous (1989), Lemmings (1991), Micro Machines (1991), Sensible Soccer (1992), Wipout (1995), Worms (1995), and Tomb Raider (1996), with Lara Croft featuring in further series-specific collections.

There are three Tomb Raider specific variants featured in this special range:

◊ The second is a book of six 1st Class stamps. Four of the stamps are the standard red royal mail stamps commonly used in England, with the other two displaying screenshots from Tomb Raider (1996) and Tomb Raider (2013).

◊ The third is a called the "Tomb Raider Collector's Sheet" which includes ten miniature stamps and is the most expensive out of the range, costing £14.25. Alongside each stamp is another screenshot from the same title. The stamps includes: Tomb Raider 1996 (X3), Tomb Raider III: The Adventures of Lara Croft (X2), Tomb Raider 2013 (X3), and Tomb Raider Chronicles (X2). Bordering the stamps is a screenshot from Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
